What we use and why
When you order or ask for a quotation, we use your name, contact details, delivery address, order details and relevant messages to take steps you request before a contract or to perform our contract with you. Stripe provides us with payment status, reference and limited payment-method details so that we can reconcile payments and arrange refunds.
We keep accounting and tax records to meet legal obligations. We use relevant correspondence and technical records such as IP addresses, timestamps and error reports for our legitimate interests in answering enquiries, securing the shop and resolving problems or disputes.
Checkout and service providers
Stripe collects payment details on its hosted checkout. Netlify hosts the website and handles technical requests. Product images may load from the image hosts used in our catalogue. Email providers help us answer messages and carriers receive the contact and address details needed to deliver an order. We share relevant records with professional advisers and authorities where necessary.
Some providers process data outside the UK. Where a restricted transfer is needed, we rely on applicable UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as approved contractual terms. Contact us for details. Stripe explains its own processing and international transfers in its privacy policy.
Cookies and browser storage
The basket uses storage in your browser to remember your selected items and quantities between visits. You can empty it in the shop or clear this site's data in your browser settings. When you go to checkout, we set an essential cookie for up to two days so the browser you used can check the payment result. Stripe may use essential identifiers for payment processing, security and fraud prevention. Stripe provides a cookie policy for its services.
How long we keep information
We keep order and accounting records for the period required by tax and company law, generally six years from the end of the relevant accounting period. We keep enquiries for as long as needed to answer them, and records relating to a dispute until it is resolved and the relevant claims period has elapsed. Routine technical records follow the hosting provider's retention settings.
Your choices and rights
You may request access to your information, correction, erasure, restriction or portability where the law permits. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. If we rely on consent for a particular use, you can withdraw that consent at any time.
